Field Service Engineer - Florida

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

The Field Service Engineer for Florida provides technical service and sales/project support on water purification equipment with the objectives of minimizing customer downtime, nurturing successful business relationships and generating revenue opportunities for Pureflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site meetings with customers and Pureflow sales team members to review customer needs and facility information in order to develop scope of work and proposals for new project and service opportunities
  • Collaboratwith sales teato review customer RF(Requesfor Quotationspecifications and develop process engineerinand design strategies tmeethe applicablrequirements
  • Support with sales strategy, generate technical brochures, presentations and any other supporting documents needed for new project opportunities
  • Develop Cost Estimates for proposals using Microsoft Excel based tools and Microsoft Word templates
  • Specify and work with purchasing group to procure system components; equipment, valves, instruments, pipe, fittings etc. from a variety of vendors
  • Assists in startups, testing and commissioning of new water systems
  • Prepare and oversee project documentationspec sheetsO&manuals, testing protocols, standard operating procedures etc.
  • Provides thorough documentation of all work, parts, and time in accordance with both Pureflow and customer specific standard operating procedures
  • Communicates effectively with customers, service and engineering team members regarding service contract issues, breakdowns or system design issues
  • Writes thorough technical reports of work activities and system improvement recommendations
  • Frequently drive company vehicles (vans, box trucks and tractor trailers) to mobilize equipment, parts and tools to customer sites. Duties include technical assistance with install crew, including but not limited to, documentation of procedures and general troubleshooting help.
  • Maintains extraordinarily neat work areas, including vehicles, shop, and work sites

Job Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or engineering field
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, organized, energetic & capable of staying cool under pressure from multiple ongoing projects
  • Fluent computer & technology skills
  • 3+ years of mechanical or electrical industry experience
  • Strong manual dexterity and mechanical skills (example: plumbing, HVAC, construction or other trade skills)
  • Obtain CDL as needed within 3 months of hire.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of proper use of hand and power tools
  • Instrumentation, controls or electrical experience/aptitude
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, piping & instrumentation drawings, or electrical diagrams

Travel:

  • Approximately 90% local and 10% out of state travel.
  • Occasional overnight travel, often with short notice, including drive times to site (up to 6 hours)
  • Hold a current valid US driver's license and good driving record over last three years is required

 Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Majority of work is performed in industrial settings inside customer manufacturing facilities
  • Regular "on call" rotation assignments
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
  • Frequent walking in a large production facility
  • Capable of bending, climbing, stooping, and standing for long periods of time on concrete
  • Must be able to safely perform all the duties of the job
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer/pre-placement drug screen, background check, and job-related physical abilities test
