Facilities Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the primary contact for all building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs)
  • Performs basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required
  • Monitors and replaces light bulbs in facilities, as needed
  • Makes minor plumbing repairs, as necessary
  • Performs minor painting and drywall repairs
  • Hangs pictures and shelving, as needed
  • Transports goods or equipment as assigned
  • Performs immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility
  • Observe and report, through the work order system, any defects, deterioration, and wear and tear on the facilities
  • Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Manager

Job Requirements:

      Skills:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate (oral and written) in English
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Work experience related to facilities maintenance
  • Must have a basic understanding of how things work (facility-related)

     Abilities:

  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints
  • Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools
  • Ability to use miscellaneous office equipment (e.g. calculator, computer, copier, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel to various work-site locations on demand

Working Conditions: Monday-Friday; 7:00am-4:00pm; Additional hours may be required depending on project load.

  • Be able to climb steps and ladders, push up to 100 pounds, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach on a routine basis
  • Must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder of 20 feet
  • Color vision
  • Hearing
  • Must be able to work outside in hot or cold conditions
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Must maintain all required safety training
