Position Summary:

The Electrical Service Technician is a member of the Service Team and reports to the Controls Service Manager. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following for water purification and treatment systems and equipment:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot electrical problems with water purification systems. This will include but not limited to, electrical panel components, motor control, including soft starts and VFD's, instrumentation, and calibration.
  • Assists Installation Department staff in commissioning and start-up of new, central water syst
  • Liaises with service call center team to coordinate trouble call responses, ensuring minimum disruption to customer operations
  • Provides thorough documentation of all work, parts, and time in accordance with SOPs
  • Build panels and wire skids per electrical schematics and P&ID's and BOM's.
  • Develops effective, trusted working relationship with all customers, maximizing ongoing communications.
  • Follows customer contractor/visitor rules
  • Uses safe work practices driving, in the shop, and at customer sites
  • Escalates reoccurring breakdown and system design issues to the Service Manag
  • Maintains extraordinarily neat work areas, including vehicles, shop, and work sites
  • Serves as primary backup for electrical emergency calls.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in equipment controls troubleshooting, preferably in commercial/industrial setting.
  • Strong electrical ability; a mechanical aptitude; PLC programming skills a plus.
  • Strong ability to understand PLCs, instrumentation, and control
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Good electrical construction skills, preferably from a commercial/industrial setting.
  • Good understanding of the NEC.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, organized, energetic & capable of staying cool under pressure from multiple ongoing project
  • Good computer skills (Internet Explorer, Word, Excel)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid NC Driver's License

Working Conditions:

  • Majority of work is performed in industrial settings inside customer facilities
  • Regular "on call" rotation assignments
  • Significant local travel, plus some overnights, depending on the job needs/location.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. without physical restriction
